January 16, 2018 (Atlanta, GA) - In Q4 2017, Curant Health added four new partners to its family of 340B covered entities it serves through its personalized medication management and specialty pharmacy fulfillment services. It also expanded its relationship with Chattanooga Cares to provide PrEP therapy for HIV-negative patients.
The four new partners who will avail themselves of a wide array of patient support services include Alivio Medical Center (Chicago, IL), Staywell Healthcare (Waterbury, CT), Primary Care of Southwest Georgia (serving patients in Georgia, Florida and Alabama) and the Florida Department of Health (Walton and Bay Counties). Curant Health currently serves more than 250 locations that participate in the 340B program and thousands of patients nationwide.
“Every provider and every patient we add to our family increases the likelihood of improving patient outcomes while reducing overall healthcare costs,” says Patrick Dunham, President and CEO, of Curant Health. “We continue to grow because our medication management programs are proven to increase adherence and improve outcomes for the most difficult, most costly to treat chronically ill patients.”
For all accounts services provided (to varying degrees) include:
- Patient support services: dedicated PCC team
- Healthcare provider services: staff education and dedicated clinic support
- Clinical services: enhanced medication therapy management (as needed)
- Pharmacy services: medication fulfillment, medication synchronization, 24/7 access to pharmacists, free home delivery, medication shipment tracking
- Reporting & analytics: quarterly business review meetings
According to a 2013 IMS Health study, more than $105 billion in avoidable healthcare expenditures is directly attributed to medication non-adherence. In one example, for a cohort of IBD patients, Curant Health’s medication management program improved adherence by 30 percent compared to Johns Hopkins’ own standard of care.
Curant Health treats thousands of patients throughout the United States every year through its medication management protocols and supports its provider partners with its award-winning EMR, MedPlan™.
“For prescribers and other healthcare providers, we generate and deliver the optimal medication therapy for each patient,” Dunham says. “We streamline the prior authorization process through clinical oversight, and we provide data that yields a comprehensive view of patient adherence to medication therapies.
“For patients, we provide individualized care management and medication management including patient education and support making it as easy for them as possible to remain compliant to their regimens.”
